"Who silly..." it is an independent film, produced and direct by the author with gigantic collaboration of technicians, actors, companies and institutions that were involved with story was telling.
It was made u$s of the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts Credit of 300,000 u$s. 25,000 u$s contributed by Government La Pampa (such as box office), approximately 8,000 u$s contributed in Infrastructure and Services for the Intendencia City of General Pico and the rest was completed with private contributions.
The movie was filmed Super 16mm with Aaton Cameras. We used 130 reels (15,000 mts) representing 23 hs. approximately from gross material. Although the final costs in 35mm and 16mm. enlarged results equals, we our case- opted film all script and repeat takings without anguish would budget of remaining us without negative (we thing it happened was if we filmed in 35mm). We took Alfavision and Barone services (light and cameras).
The filming in Argentina lasted 6 weeks and 3 days. Later on 3 days in Paris. The 80% location was filmed in General Pico City: The laboratory of the University of Veterinary, the Hospital, the Church, the streets on the city, the field and the fields sunflowers. In Buenos Aires was filmed scenes the laboratory of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry and all flashback anchored in the ends of the '70.' It in Paris was filmed into neighbord immigrants "Pigalle" and, the car scenes, in the Airport Charles Degaull and nears freeways.
The technical team: Most the technicians were recent graduate film schools and age average was 26 years. In spite of being young most technicians had already worked in several features last years. Did "Production's team" come working in "Sabés Swimming?", the "Asisstant Director's team" in "El viento se llevó lo que...", and the "Photograph team" in "La vida segun Muriel."
The principal characters: Gustavo Garzón, He have a long trajectory in theater and television, he debuts such as movie protagonistic with "How Silly's.." He was first and last taking the film, and he was 4 and a half weeks in La Pampa and Buenos Aires location. Accompanied by Laura Melillo and -the writer and musician- Leo Masliah.
The enlarged and copies were made to CINECOLOR Laboratory: The process we used was "Master and Dup", made by "truca" (square to square). From point of view the picture, the movie didn't run risks to level illumination because is not a film of low lights. It is true that enlarged evidences doubtful focus, but to level grain and with focal definition, really for audencie eye's weren't detect difference of the original format.
The edition: All the film was edit in AVID. The work was made slowly because was a lot of material. We took 5 months in short turns between 4 or 5 hs., We arrived first a gross cut of 120 minutes and later -in 2 weeks- became arrived 90 minutes ends. It was worked in the CERC and Zóttola's AVID.
The creation and edition sound tracks also was made in AVID with Protools and took us approximately 2 months. We took Baigorria and Bronztein servicies. It mix sound we took of Osvaldo Vacca Studio (FX Sound) and it was completed in 5 complete days in January of the 2000.
The music: Leo Masliah no only acts a characters ("Raúl Priest"), he also composed and executed the musical band of the movie. In some melodies the voice of Navarro Samantha also appears.
